Nice is nice

This is one of my favourite shots from my vacation last year. We passed through Nice on our way to St. Paul de Vence and spent just long enough there to know we wanted to go back for an extended stay. I was fascinated by the order of the umbrellas. It was almost as if there were rules for placement that everyone adhered to.

Not too far from the beach, there was a surprise waiting on a rooftop.

And how is this for a wall decoration?

Surely there's inspiration for a postcard collage here somewhere? Time will tell.

I don't know about a collage, but each of these three images is worth several minutes' pondering all by themselves!

Thanks Sherwood. If you read my previous posts you will know that I'm using my travel photos for inspiration to create more abstracted collages. I'm also creating a selection of postcards based on the Demesne. These started out very realistic, but I am working backwards from that point because I want less recognizable impressions. I haven't posted these yet as they are still in process. As a fellow Demesne prowler hopefully you will appreciate them. Can't wait for you to see them.

Oh, Margaret, aren't those umbrellas so festive and wonderful! What great memories, and using them for inspiration, I can see that easily! Keep doing great things. Hugs, Tina.

This umbrella photo speaks of wonderful sunny days at waters edge. Spending more time there has to be high on your list! The postcards will be spectacular!

Beautiful photographs. I especially like the umbrella scene. I believe you'll get some good ideas from that one. I spent 2 days in Nice about a decade ago. Great city.
