Winner

I love looking up words, even words I already know the meaning of. Something is always added to my understanding through this process.

Winner:
n. One that wins, especially a victor in sports or a notably successful person.

The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition. Houghton Mifflin Company, 2004.
n.
an excellent person or thing. : This one is a real winner.

Spears, Richard, Dictionary of American Slang and Colloquial Expressions , Fourth Edition. McGraw Hill, 2007.

Why choose "winner" today?

I
am the proud new owner of a Don Michael Jr. artwork. The details can be found here. What did I learn from my winner research? I like the definition from the Dictionary of American Slang . It's usage covers the painting and artist. This one is a real winner.

Thanks Don for the opportunity to participate. You brighten my day with your work and sense of humour.

Margaret -- wonderful title and very thrilling that you brought new meaning to the painting for Don, the artist. Well deserved.

You writing style is superb and I enjoy checking in. The past week I've been somewhat absent from blog land, so I am happy to catch up with your blog.
