What's up now?

I woke this morning just in time to hear my interview on Weekend Arts Magazine. After it was taped I couldn't remember one word I had uttered. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I sounded articulate and hopefully interesting to listeners. My artist talk went fairly well today after technology glitches got straightened out. It doesn't seem to matter how much you prepare ahead of time with machines- they get you in the end. It was great to see old friends and new faces for the talk. Jeanette Jobson, fellow blogger showed up and it made me feel very connected to blogland.

That was my last commitment for awhile. I feel fancy free right now. Tomorrow I go to my summer house for two weeks of relaxation and painting. I am in a summer show at the Leyton Gallery at the end of June and I plan to finish two paintings for it. I have some general ideas that will become specific as I start to paint.

My posting decreases greatly in the summer months because the only internet access is by dial up. This summer we've decided we just can't bear the slowness and would rather do without. Email by Blackberry and cell phone will be our connection to the outside world. This will have to do.

All of my work is now up on the Leyton Gallery site for those interested in checking it out. My next post will be in two weeks.

I went on the Gallery site and enjoyed seeing your work all together without walls or people...just your work...you must feel proud of this show.
Enjoy your summer house!

You gave an inspiring talk yesterday and it was wonderful to have an opportunity to see your work in person.

The lush foliage and richness springs out at you and makes you feel as if you've stepped into that world for a moment.

Great job, enjoy your summer break.

I wish I could hear your radio interview! You are so articulate, and it must have been a great broadcast. I, too, must face the world of dial-up over the summer, but decided to deal with it anyway. We'll miss you!! Happy painting :-)

Thanks all. I am hoping to put up a link to my interview when I get back. I'm hoping it will be available online.

Great work, Margaret. I really enjoyed checking out the entire series. I wish I could get in front of each one in person - maybe someday.

Kudos on the radio interview. I can't wait to hear it!

I hope you have a great summer. I'll feel your times of absence...
