Change
Sitting with tea
cooling into death,
contemplating,
clinically aware of passing days
charted through body changes,
life's tracks on skin,
elasticity once supporting
grows tired from other uses -
holding raging emotions
supporting a smile with no inner voice
dropping tears for no obvious reason
linking inner and outer worlds
fueling creative juices
rejuvenating a smoldering love
silently remaking myself
in ways not obvious
to those who critically assess
my outward package.

Thank you.
So true... our bodies change as we age for sure-- our minds change based on experiences--- hopefully growing wiser with age. But our art should always be changing-- in constant flux-- as we push for something more in our work.
Margaret, those are lovely words to reflect upon, and the picture is wonderful. Is that you!?
Great photo of a thoughtful child...you? The words are beautiful, thank you for sharing...yes, change.
I've been away for six days so I just got to read your lovely responses. Yes that is me in grade one -shy and observant.
oh Margaret, what a wonderful photo. I love your artwork, just adore it, but my heavens, this photo has completely captivated me.
