Found sculpture

I always look forward to opening up the summer house because it marks the end of a long, dreary winter and the anticipation of the various events that become our summer.  As you can see from the shot below we are still a long way from summer yet, but I'm happy to report seeing buds on the trees.

Everything still looks so dried out and sculptural it got me thinking about how the simplest things can be quite beautiful when you look at them in a different light.  One of my favourite summer activities is  exploring beaches and you never know what you might find.  Some of the things I drag back home and many I just remember through a photograph.

Some of these have appeared in my art work and others have a strong pull for various reasons.  Do you have a favourite?

Margaret, you have a lovely summer place by the sea! My favourite is the rusted metal but the lost boot makes me wonder "how it got there?"

Carole,
I've put a lot of thought into that lone boot which was in very good condition. I guess it just fell overboard from a boat. There are several fishermen in the community where I saw it.

Margaret--wonderful images from your wanderings--like the 5th image of the old metal pieces best, altho' all are great, each one is a story in itself. It was a long, long winter this year so I hope you enjoy the summer doubly so!

I'm fond of the first photo and the metal objects too. The boot tells a hundred different stories?! Happy Summer

My favorite is the antlers. I couldn't get enough of staring at their beautiful shapes and the wide variety of whites and grays. I would end up with those hanging or laying in my studio. Inspiring, indeed.
